Newark Police release identity of fire victim

NEWARK, Ohio–The Newark Police Department announced Tuesday that a victim of a recent house fire  has been identified.

Police said 50-year-old Douglas B. Baumgartner of Newark died on August 30th in an early morning fire at 176 E. Channel Street.

The fire remains under investigation and is a cooperative effort of the Newark Fire and Police Departments and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
