Newark wins in opening tourney game
NEWARK, Ohio – Not many teams have been able to challenge the Newark Wildcats this year, and the Whetstone Braves joined the list of teams to fall to the Cats.
In Newark’s first tournament game they downed 43rd seeded Whetstone 84-38. BJ Duling and JT Shumate each had 14 points for the second seeded Wildcats.
Newark advances and will play 46th seeded West at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
