No Bully Zone Held At Eagles Club

The community gathered together Saturday to support and raise awareness about the dangers of bullying and its link to suicide.

For the very first time, No Bully Zone was held at the Eagles Club in Cambridge. Event Organizer Missie Watkins explained more about what guests could expect at the event.

"We have different things set up here. We have a Scentsy rep here, Origami Owl, we’re having an auction, a Chinese auction, DJ. A dance team is going to be performing on bullying."

All of the money raised goes towards local agencies that help to prevent suicide. Those groups include Haven of Hope and the Suicide Coalition. Professional speakers also shared messages on their own struggles with bullying or suicide attempts. Nikki Robinson explains the value of their cause.

"Bullying is a big thing in this area. Well actually, I think it’s everywhere. We’ve had a lot of young children that have committed suicide lately and that’s how this one started."

The event ran from 11AM and wrapped up about 11PM. Watkins says around 300 people were expected.
