Nominations are Open for the 37th Annual Women of Achievement Award

ZANESVILLE, OH—Nominations are now open for the Women of Achievement program.

This is the 37th year for the annual awards event hosted by the Muskingum County Family YMCA. The program aims to recognize the ways women continue to contribute to the Muskingum community.

“So, we’re looking for nominations,” said committee member Heather Sands-Davis. “The nomination deadline is quickly approaching, January 17th at 5 p.m. The nominations are accepted online and as we’re looking for people to be nominated, we feel like the community will know who the best person will be. We have 6 different categories that people can be nominated for. Anywhere from healthcare to education to volunteering, just really, the recipients are people who make an impact in the community.”

The program seeks not only adult recipients but also recognizes a high school-aged individual through the Bright Futures award. Everyone in the Muskingum community is encouraged to think of at least one outstanding woman or young lady to nominate.

“It may not necessarily be the person at the front of the leadership of a committee or an organization or event, but they may be a person that you know that you see behind the scenes doing things that are making a difference,” Sands-Davis said. “So think through those who have made an impact on your life.”

The Women of Achievement recipient dinner will take place in April. All proceeds from sponsorships and program ads will go back to the YMCA. If you’re interested in nominating someone for this honor, please visit Muskingum Women of Achievement
