North Linden Avenue Closed

North Linden Avenue, North of the Yacht Club and South of Fairview Road, is currently closed due to pavement failure.

Muskingum County Engineer Doug Davis says the problem is due to saturated soil in that area.  He says they have started to make repairs and hope they can have the traffic open to the road by this evening.

"That would be our temporary fix. Probably Monday morning, we will have to go back in and work another full day, and make things a little more permanent, but we will have our crews onsite as long as the road is closed. I have notified the Sheriff’s Department to give us a little help with a cruiser to let traffic know… hey, we have a problem in this area," said Davis. 

Davis says his first priority is keeping drivers safe.
