October’s ZAAP Gallery Spotlight Artist
ZANESVILLE, OH – October is here, and so is some incredible local art! Raymond Ramos has been named the Artist of the Month at the ZAAP Gallery.
Raymond has been passionate about art for as long as he can remember, but it wasn’t until 2018 that he fell in love with oil painting. His passion for painting ignited when his wife purchased him canvases and little tubes of paint. What started as a thoughtful gift quickly turned into a lifelong passion, and ever since then, his artistic journey has taken off. His collection features a variety of subjects, from landscapes to stunning scenes from nature.
“I paint mostly in oil, but I do some sculpture. I like to paint pretty much anything that’s interesting to me. I try not so much to use grey colors; I think colors express more of a feeling than the actual painting does. So, I like to use color a lot,” Ramos said.
You can see Ramos’ unique pieces on display at the ZAAP Gallery, right in the heart of downtown Zanesville. Visit the gallery during the First Friday Art Walk on October 4th to view or even purchase his beautiful work.
“I think it takes a really long time to figure out what your style is. I still don’t think I’ve got there yet. But at the same time, you get to spend so much time alone and you start learning who you are. Then it comes out from your paintings,” Ramos said.
