Ohio GOP Encourages Voters to Reject Issue One
ZANESVILLE, OH – The Ohio Republican Party brought its “No on One” and ORP Early Vote Bus Tour to Zanesville on October 9th, encouraging voters to reject Issue One on the upcoming ballot.
While the clock ticks down to Election Day, party leaders are focused on getting their message out early and often. The stop at Bryan Place saw Ohio Republican Party Chairman, Alex Triantafilou, speaking about the importance of voting no on Issue One.
“A ‘no’ on Issue One keeps accountability in the process. The proposal for Issue One will strip out any accountability from the people who draw the lines. This commission that’s proposed is not accountable to voters, you can’t unelected them if you don’t like what they do. There are many reasons to be against it, and that would be one of many. We’re out here advocating for a strong ‘no’ on One. President Trump and Governor DeWine has come out against Issue One,” Triantafilou said.
The stop in Zanesville is just one of many across Ohio as the bus tour makes its way around the state. Early voting has already started, with party leaders pushing for voter turnout before Election Day. The tour will continue to other cities, focusing on encouraging citizens to make their voices heard.
“The Ohio Republican Party is making a whole week of traveling throughout the state. We’re encouraging folks to get out, vote early, and vote Republican, but also to bring notice of Issue One and a ‘no’ vote on Issue One,” U.S. Congressman Troy Balderson said.
On the other side, supporters of Issue One say it’s necessary to ensure fairer elections. For those interested in learning more about Issue One, you can visit the website below for additional details.
