Ohio Secretary of State visits Zanesville

Zanesville, Ohio- Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted visited Zanesville today.
Secretary Husted met with local republicans for the Muskingum County Lincoln Day Dinner to discuss the history and future of Ohio and plans to make the Buckeye State more prosperous. Secretary Husted hopes his proposed budget cut will serve as a good example.
“The Secretary of State’s office is a constitutional office yet we are going to be able to run it without using a single tax dollar for the next two years. Since I got into office we’ve cut the size of our staff by 33%. While state spending has gone up by 17%, we’ve cut spending by 16%.”
Secretary Husted hopes those excess funds will be placed in education and children services.
“Particularly as we’ve seen more and more children left alone in life with parents who maybe have an opioid addiction and have abused those kids. Well you know one of the things we can do is put those resources to bear to help those children, to help them get a good start in life, to get an education and have a more hopeful future.”
Secretary Husted noted he enjoys visiting and supporting a great community with good work ethic.
