Ohio State sets NFL draft record

One day after three Buckeyes were drafted in the top 10 and five in the first round, the Scarlet and Gray train kept rolling in Chicago.

Five Bucks heard their names called in the second and third rounds combined, giving Ohio State a record-setting 10 picks in the first two days of the draft.

Wide receiver Michael Thomas and safety Vonn Bell were taken by the same team in the second round. The New Orleans Saints drafted Thomas 47th overall and Bell 61st overall.

The Buffalo Bills took defensive tackle Adolphus Washington in the third round with the 80th pick. Five picks later, the Houston Texans nabbed highly touted quarterback-turned-receiver Braxton Miller. And rounding out the record-setting night, the Seattle Seahawks picked tight end Nick Vannett with the 94th overall selection.

The handful of newly drafted Buckeyes joins first-round picks Joey Bosa (#3/San Diego), Ezekiel Elliot (#4/Dallas), Eli Apple (#10/New York Giants), Taylor Decker (#16/Detroit) and Darron Lee (#20/New York Jets) on NFL rosters.

More talented Ohio State standouts remain on the board for the third and final draft day. Quarterback Cardale Jones, linebacker Joshua Perry, safety Tyvis Powell and wide receiver Jalin Marshall are hoping to hear their names called in rounds 4-7.
