Ohio Student Receives Sizable Scholarship
A young Ohio woman was awarded $10,000 for her outstanding achievements with the National Wild Turkey Federation.
Mallory Spring earned a $250 scholarship from the local chapter of NWTF, Y-bridge Long-Beards and a state wide scholarship in the amount $1,000 which led to her eligibility for the nationally competitive scholarship. Spring said she hopes to pass on the knowledge and passion for hunting and conservation that was instilled in her childhood
" I want to teach everyone the things I come to love and know about wildlife and nature in general," said Spring "I want to pass on my knowledge to others and keep learning new things about wildlife."
Spring graduated this past May and intends to attend Hocking College in Nelsonville to begin her college career. She hopes to receive her Associates Degree in Wildlife Resources Management and then move onto her Bachelor’s in Wildlife Biology with many options in mind including Ohio State and West Virginia State University. Spring said that she will use her scholarships to begin her college career debt free.
"It’s absolutely huge, I mean the scholarships from the NWTF alone mean that my first year of college is completely paid for basically I’m going to go through my first 2 years of college at least completely debt free and that’s really all that one can hope for," Spring said.
Spring wants to thank all of those who took part in her reception of the scholarships and supported her throughout life.
