Old Scoreboard Comes Down

Fans of Zanesville High School Football will get a treat this season as a new state of the art scoreboard will light up the end zone.

Monday crews removed Sulsberger Stadium’s year old scoreboard to make room for a new one, to be installed later this week.

“It’s exciting. A year ago if you would have told me that we were going to take down a brand new scoreboard and replace it, I’d thought you were crazy at this point,” said Zanesville Athletic Director Scott Aronhalt.

The new virtual board goes in on Wednesday and is LED and has the capability to play full length videos and commercials.

“It’s an ongoing project. We have a new track, our recognition area will be complete as people walk into the stadium. We’re going to recognize those people who donated to the project, but it will also honor John D. Sulsberger with a statue,” added Aronhalt.

Zanesville is only the second school in the nation to have this type of scoreboard and this year the Sulsberger Field took third place in the Nationwide Field of Dreams contest.
