Old Timer’s ‘Banker’s Night’ Celebratory Baseball Game
The Muskingum Valley Old Timers are getting their bats ready for the annual Banker’s Night fundraiser.
The game will be at 7:05 p.m., June 24, at Gant Stadium. The Muskingum Valley Old Timers Baseball Association Executive Director, Bob Wolfe, said this game celebrates the rivalry between the juniors and seniors.
“The organization was started in 1954 and they’ve played this game every year since, and the thing about it is that with the juniors they have an age limit, so when they become 21 they can’t play on there, so now those players become 22 and they go play for the seniors, so there always a rivalry there with that ballgame, so we celebrate this night,” Wolfe said.
Tickets are free at any Community, Century or North Valley bank in the area, or you can buy them for $4 at the door. Local businesses also donated prizes for a raffle, including Columbus Zoo and Kennywood tickets. Food and refreshments will be available for those in attendance as well. Chairman, Grant Hutcheson, said it couldn’t happen without the bank’s support.
“A lot of it goes for a good cause, and the best thing of all is that your going to come out support a great organization and help further the baseball program here in the area for 13 to 18-year-olds, and the adult program here for the Muskingum Valley Old Timers Association,” Hutcheson said.
All proceeds benefit the Muskingum Valley Old Timers Baseball Association.
