Once Upon A Christmas Returns for 11th Year

ZANESVILLE, OH – A beloved holiday show is making its return for the 11th year.

Once Upon A Christmas XI: Joy to the World is set to hit Secrest Auditorium’s Stage on Saturday, Dec. 14th at 2 and 7PM.

Shelly Burley, the Director of Once Upon A Christmas, said this year’s show will take you to the North Pole where there’s some trouble afoot.

“Normally, I try to do different places that we go, but this year we’re going to the North Pole and Santa has noticed it has stopped snowing. At the North Pole? There’s got to be snow, right?” Burley explained, “So he stumbles upon Colin, a disgruntled elf that is causing all this mischief at the North Pole. They go on a journey to put the North Pole back, because the North Pole is a symbol of hope, joy, and peace to the world and Santa won’t stop until everything that has been changed at the North Pole is turned back to good.”

Burley said the cast and stage crew for this show consists of around 60 people.

She also said that all of the proceeds from Once Upon A Christmas will be headed to Christ’s Table, as they have every year since the first show.

Keely Warden, the Executive Director of Christ’s Table, said since the show began 11 years ago, they have been able to provide over 11,000 meals to the community.

“I just sit back in amazement and watch what these guys do, it’s absolutely amazing,” Warden said. “Shelly chose Christ’s Table as the benefactor agency 11 years ago and it’s amazing. The people all come together, they volunteer their time, no one gets paid to do this. They dedicate so many hours starting early in October to put this wonderful show on, but the best thing is to earn a little funding for Christ’s Table.”

There will be a free showing of Once Upon A Christmas for veterans on Friday, Dec. 13th at 10AM with a free lunch to follow, provided by the Roseville American Legion.

If you are interested in seeing the show, you can grab your tickets for $15 from Secrest Auditorium’s website or at onceuponachristmas.live.
