One Man’s Trash is another Man’s Treasure
The International Coin Collectors Association has made its way into Zanesville in search of the rarest coins in the world.
During this event at The Holiday Inn Express, The ICCA collectors are hoping to see items such as coins, gold, silver and paper currency issued prior to 1965…items that are in high demand by collectors from around the world.
"People have old coffee cans in their house and don’t know what the value of those coins are, bring them in, we will look at each and every one of them, and see what the value is," said Manager Keith Brook.
Here’s how it works…The ICCA experts make offers based on what the collectors are willing to pay. Then when someone decides to sell, they get paid on the spot, and the experts send the item to the collector at their expense. Brook says the ICCA has uncovered quite a few treasures.
"A letter from George Washington that one of my buyers bought 6 months ago. Very rare, very neat piece of history," said Brook.
The ICCA will be at The Holiday Inn Express in Zanesville from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Friday and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
