Open Cranberry Bog Day Canceled at Buckeye Lake
The Greater Buckeye Lake Historical Society has announced that the annual Open Cranberry Bog Day usually held the third Saturday in June is canceled for the 2015 season.
The low water level on Buckeye Lake has caused the event to be canceled. A press release from the Buckeye Lake Museum said it is a safety factor of trying to get the visitors out to the island.
Cranberry Bog can only be accessed by boat. The bog day experience has been going on since 1990. Officials said Cranberry Bog seems to be handling the low water level. Cranberry Bog volunteers are monitoring the island and continue to keep a watchful eye on its health.
