OSHP Investigating Stabbing on Charter Bus in Guernsey County

GUERNSEY COUNTY—The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a stabbing incident on a charter bus that was travelling northbound on Interstate-77.

It happened just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday near the interchange for I-70 in Guernsey County.

Sgt. Ashley Jackson said during the incident a passenger on the charter bus attacked three passengers with a knife.

Authorities said the attack was over when troopers arrived on scene and the suspect, 43-year-old Jason Stanek of Cleveland , was taken into custody without incident.

The victims were transported to area hospitals by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was also transported for minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office, Cambridge Police Department, and the Cassell Station Volunteer Fire Department.

The incident remains under investigation.
