OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County host watch party

ZANESVILLE, OH- Dedicated alumni from Ohio State University came together for a watch party of the Ohio State vs. Northwestern football game today.
The watch party was open to the public and free to attend. The event has always been hosted at The Barn in Zanesville.
“The Barn has been a great spot for us, Jim Watson and his team at The Barn make it very easy for us, obviously they bring a lot of people themselves as well as through advertising, we get a lot of Ohio State game watchers and it’s packed inside and that’s one the reasons why we’re out here, it’s a great time and we’re raising a lot of money for the kids,” said Vice President of the OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County, Bo Coconis.
The alumni are part of the OSU Alumni Club of Muskingum County. Not only did they come together to watch the game and cheer on their team, but they also came together to give back to the community in a big way.
“We do a game watch party for every away game for Ohio State every year, and all of the money and fun that we have goes towards scholarships for kids that attend Ohio State University from Muskingum County, last year we actually gave away over 19,000 dollars in scholarships to kids that are from Muskingum County, so all of the money that we raise today through the raffle and through some other fundraisers all go back to the kids,” said Coconis.
The alumni group will be holding their scholarship auction in the spring, which serves as their largest fundraising event. For more information visit the club’s website or Facebook page.
