OU Has Local Support
Ohio University may have lost to the University of Tennessee this afternoon, by a score of 83-68, but local residents say to get to the round of 32 is a pretty big accomplishment.
"It’s exciting being a fan. It gives a lot of people in the area something to root for, " says Zanesville resident Troi Smith.
Clay Hooper of Pataskala is an OU alum. He was at The Barn watching the game go down.
"When I was in school, Gary Trent was in and we played against Indiana. (We) lost in the first round. So, to see them make it to the second round is great, " says Hooper.
Ohio State University is also in the round of 32 and is set to play tomorrow at 2:20 p.m. against Georgia Tech.
Both Smith and Hooper say it would have been interesting if Ohio University advanced to the next round and possibly faced the Buckeyes.
