Perry County authorities discover meth lab
Authorities arrested three men after discovering a methamphetamine lab in Perry County Wednesday afternoon.
Law enforcement was attempting to locate a wanted person at 3530 Reading Township Road 123 in Junction City, when they smelled a strong chemical odor coming from an RV parked in the driveway. According to a press release, Sergeant Kevin Starrett of the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and Chief Joe Carr of the Crooksville Police Department discovered the meth lab inside the RV.
Authorities arrested 54-year old Robert Wise, 49-year old Brian Barnes and 59-year old Donald Miller in connection to the lab.
Wise and Barnes face felony charges of illegal manufacturing in drugs and illegal possession of chemicals to manufacture drugs.
Miller is facing a felony count of possession of methamphetamine.
All three are being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, and are scheduled to appear in court next week.
The Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and Somerset Fire Department also assisted in the bust.
