Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For those with active lifestyles and wanting to add a dog into the mix, we have you covered.

This ‘Pet of the Week’ is J.D. who is a young Jack Russell mix. J.D. is a very energetic and playful dog who is looking for his fur-ever home. Executive Director Jody Murray said J.D. gets along with other animals and suggests that anyone interested should spend time with J.D. and make sure his energy can be handled well.

“We recommend that wherever he goes, it’s a home that can give him a lot of exercise and you know that will certainly help teach and give him good behavior and those kind of things,” said Murray.

J.D. can be adopted for $125.00 and he’ll be up to date on his shots and already be neutered.

The Animal Shelter Society has their third annual Yappy Hour on March 30, 2017.

“We are still looking for corporate sponsors,” Murray said. “Still selling tickets down at the [Zanesville Country Club], a great event. We’re going to have some great Chefs out there making some nice appetizers, and usually some really good desserts.”

There will be about 10 auction items and all proceeds go back to the animals. Tickets cost $30.00 for a single person, $50.00 for couples, and tickets purchased at the door cost $40.00.
