Pet of the Week: Meet Valentine
ZANESVILLE, OH – She’s got floppy ears, a wagging tail and a heart full of love! This week’s Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week is Valentine.
Valentine is a 5-year-old Coonhound who is looking for a forever home with lots of love and plenty of space to play.
“Perfect family for her if we had a choice, outside, country living, able to run. She would be good with kids. She’s not real keen on some of the dogs we have, so that makes her dog selective,” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director April Gibson said.
Next week marks the beginning of Earth Week, and the Animal Shelter Society has partnered with Muskingum Iron and Metal to host an event that benefits the planet and local pets. Starting on Monday, April 21st, you can stop by and drop off aluminum cans to be recycled.
“Earth Day is coming up next week, and we do Earth Week. We have the aluminum can recycling bin Mr. Dick Joseph from Muskingum Iron and Metal. They match any of our donations for next week. So, there’s going to be a big container out in our parking lot here at the shelter. And they actually match what we turn in to them,” Gibson said.
Don’t forget, Pickleball for Paws is happening Saturday, May 31st at the Riverside Park. You can find more information on that and other events on the Animal Shelter Society website.
