Pet of the Week: JJ

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you are looking for a new furry friend to add to the family, meet JJ.

He is an 8-month-old domestic shorthair mix who is ready to find his forever home. The Animal Shelter Society’s Executive Director Jody Murray said he was adopted but was returned due to the owner’s allergies.

“This cat is very good with people, very good with cats and dogs. Just a wonderful cat and again only 8 months old so he’s going to be a good size cat when he grows up,” Murray said.

The shelter is running a special right now that involves a free bag of food with all adoptions. You can adopt JJ for $60 at the shelter and if you are interested in adopting a cat there are few things to be aware of.

“The first thing is that it’s a long term commitment, cats can live 15 to 18 years so it is a long term commitment. You need to think a little bit about how it is going to change your life in terms of traveling and things like that,” Murray said.

If you are interested in adopting JJ, call the Animal Shelter Society at (740) 452-1077. Yappy Hour is coming up on March 7th at the Country Club if you are interested in attending, tickets are available at the shelter.
