Philo Shooting Update

PHILO, Ohio- Authorities are releasing more details today in connection to Wednesday shooting in Philo.
Muskingum County Sheriff, Matt Lutz, reported that the two individuals involved were 21-year-old Devonte Goins of Zanesville and 24-year-old Bradly Grimes of Zanesville. Both individuals remain at Genesis Hospital with gunshot wounds.
“Mr.Goins was shot multiple times during this incident yesterday and is still in very critical condition at Genesis Hospital, he is expected to have more surgeries. Mr.Grimes was shot once during this altercation and he is also still recovering at Genesis. His injury right now is believed to be non-life threatening at this time, however more surgery may be necessary for him as well.”
Lutz also noted Goins was present at the residence with an individual believed to be his girlfriend while Grimes arrived at the scene in an Impala with three individuals, one of which is believed to have a past connection with Goins.
“One of those females was Mr.Grimes girlfriend and then the other two individuals were boyfriend/girlfriend and that female I believe had a past connection with Mr.Goins. This was not a random act, these folks were familiar with each other and they have a history or they know each other from the past.”
No details have been released on the motive and no charges have been filed as the incident remains under investigation.
