Pletcher Sentenced in Drug Case

Muskingum County- A man who escaped the Muskingum County Jail in February plead guilty to two charges stemming from his initial arrest.
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office said Wayne Pletcher’s charges included tampering with evidence and possessing drug abuse instruments. In July of 2024, Authorities pulled a vehicle over with expired registration. Authorities discovered Pletcher had outstanding warrants for failure to appear and a post-release control violation.
A search of the vehicle uncovered multiple syringes, a wrapper with white residue and a crack pipe. After arriving at the jail, Pletcher admitted to eating one gram of fentanyl after he saw the police car behind him.
Pletcher faces up to 36 months in prison for tampering with evidence. He also faces 90 days in jail for having drug abuse instruments. Charges related to the jailbreak are still pending and remain scheduled for jury trial later this month.
