Police Investigating Fatal Shooting in Zanesville

Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Zanesville Sunday night.

It happened just before 7 p.m. at 409 1/2 Mead Street.  According to Detective Sergeant Ric Roush, a 37-year-old Zanesville man was shot once in the chest.

The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he later died.  Roush said the man’s name is not being released until his family is notified.

Police do not have a suspect in custody, but officers are interviewing neighbors to find out what exactly happened.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Zanesville Police Department at (740) 455-0700.
