Police Searching for Bank Robber

The search is on for a man who robbed a bank in Newark.

A man walked in to the Park National Bank on Granville Road Thursday and handed the teller a note demanding cash. Luckily he fled on foot and everyone was okay.

"Nobody was hurt, and because a gun wasn’t shown doesn’t mean a gun wasn’t present, everybody should act as though that’s the case," Sgt. Snow said.

A witness said they saw red car leaving the area around that time. Sgt. Snow said the white male was wearing jeans, a long sleeved top, and a towel around his neck.

"According to a witness there was a tattoo on his neck. It was possible that the long sleeve clothing could have tried to hide very definitive tattoos," Sgt. Snow said.

Stg. Snow said he has a goatee, thin build, about 5’9, and between 20 and 30. If anyone has information on this robbery contact Detective Green or Venoy at the Newark Police Department at 740-670-7201.
