Police Statement On 1988 Murder

Zanesville Police Tuesday released a statement concerning the investigation into a 1988 Zanesville murder and efforts to bring the suspect back to Muskingum County. Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says the suspect in the murder of Jeffrey Harris is fighting extradition from New York State, where he is in custody, to Ohio to face charges. Roush says he’s currently working with the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office to file a Governors Warrant – which if accepted by the State of New York, would force the suspect back to Zanesville to face possible charges.
