Pop Star Gives Local Man a Chance of a Lifetime
Pop superstar, Kelly Clarkson, gave one Zanesville man the chance of a lifetime.
After winning her Open Mic Contest, local artist, Zac Owens, had the opportunity to perform on-stage during Clarkson’s concert in Burgettstown, PA, Sunday night. The contest gives undiscovered talent the chance to spotlight on stage, and Owens said the experience was nothing short of surreal.
“It was incredibly surreal, I’m used to being onstage and in front of people, but this is such a bigger scale, the energy from the crowd, they were incredibly receiving, incredibly encouraging,” he said.
Owens has been performing since he was a just a kid, and said Clarkson is someone who’s always inspired him musically.
“She’s such a down-to-earth, genuine individual, you always hope that these people are who you imagine them to be, and she was every bit as genuine, and every bit as down-to-earth as you would imagine she would be,” he said.
Owens said he looks foward to continuing his musical career, and encourages all up-and-coming artists to never give up on their dreams.
