Possible Break In 1988 Murder Case
The Zanesville Police Department has gotten a break on a 1988 murder case. Not many details are known, but the suspect, who has been on the run since the incident happened was picked up in New York State on a routine traffic stop. Authorities say when police did a check it was discovered that he was wanted on a murder warrant from Zanesville in 1988. Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz says the suspect, who’s name has not been released remains in a New York State jail cell and is fighing extradition. A Zanesville police detective and a Muskingum County Sheriff’s Detective traveled to New York in an attempt to bring the suspect back to Muskingum County to face the charges.The name of the victim is Jeffrey Harris. More details are expected to be released Monday.
