‘Prayers For Makenna’ Benefit

ZANESVILLE, OH- Makenna Lemmon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last October at the age of 3. With the support of her family, the community, and the ongoing chemotherapy treatments, Makenna’s family is certain that she can overcome her condition.

On Saturday, at the Knights of Columbus, Makenna’s family held a “Prayer For Makenna” benefit to help raise money for her treatment.

“We’re trying to help Makenna and her family,” said Tammy Findeiss, Makenna’s Grandmother.

“Her mom hasn’t been able to work because she’s been home with Makenna. We’re just trying to help them out with some living expenses and a few medical expenses that aren’t being picking up by insurance.”

Findeiss said that Makenna has been doing a lot better in the past couple weeks.

“All in all, she’s doing real well. She’s feeling better so that’s making a big difference too. We hope to have her a little bit better so then she will be able to start preschool in the fall. I think she is really excited about that.”

If you would like to help out Makenna and her battle with leukemia, monetary donations can be made anytime to the Makenna Lemmon Savings Account at any Huntington Bank.
