Prepping For The 169th Muskingum County Fair
Only four days remain until the Muskingum County Fairgrounds transform from empty space to the colorful, lively atmosphere we anticipate each year.
Some of the attractions are already shaping up. Secretary and Concession Manager for the Fair, Doug Guinsler said all is going smoothly, thanks to a team of hard workers and planners.
“It takes a year of planning.” Said Guinsler, “Believe it or not, we’ll start talking even this week here or next about next year and as we get in to September and October. Of course we’ll make some decisions then we get into setting our entertainment schedule and what have you in late December and early January.”
Guinsler said it takes typically seven to eight days to set up for the rides, eighty concession stands and nearly fifty game booths. Guinsler said it’s more than just the entertainment that will bring people to the fair this week.
“I think the number one thing, and they took several surveys over the years, is seeing their friends at the fair. That’s probably their number one thing believe it or not.”
