Prison Inmate Faces More Charges
A Quaker City man who was brought back to Muskingum County from prison to face trial from a 2010 crime spree that started here and ended in Pennsylvania is facing more charges. 25-year-old Michael Burkhart appeared before Judge Mark Fleegle and pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence. Prosecutor Mike Haddox says while Burkhart was in the county jail he is accused of stabbing another inmate with a metal shank on April 9th. Burkhart was in the Muskingum County waiting for his trial on multiple charges including kidnapping and aggravated robbery from an incident last year that started at the Six County Crisis Hotline Center on Dillon Acres Drive and ended up in Pennsylvania. Judge Fleegle continued Burkhart’s bond at one million dollars cash. His trial date for the crime spree charges is set for May 31st.
