SOUTH ZANESVILLE, OH –The South Zanesville Fire Department and Amrou Grotto are preparing for another meat raffle.

This is an opportunity to not only enjoy a great night out but also contribute to essential community services.

“This Saturday February 1st we’re having another meat raffle down at the Grotto. All the money raised goes to different things that we do through the department, and they receive half the funds we gain to help them with their day-to-day operations at the Grotto,” South Zanesville Fire Chief, Russell Taylor said.

There is a $5.00 admission fee, which includes snacks and soda. Once inside you can purchase raffle tickets for $2.00 or $3.00. Call it a steal because over $2,000 worth of prizes will be given away.

We’re going to have great meat this time. It will be freshly cut today for it to be given away tomorrow. Doors open at 6 o’clock, meat raffle starts at 7. It only lasts about an hour and a half, an hour 45 minutes and then you’re done and can go home,” Chief Taylor said.

The event will be at the Amrou Grotto, and it’s suggested that you bring a cooler to store your winnings. Crab legs and ribeye steaks will be this month’s featured items for the side raffle.
