Property Tax Payments Are Due In February
ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â Muskingum County Treasurer Chris Hamil met with the county commissioners Thursday.
Hamil said county investments are doing well. Now she wants to remind property owners that the deadline for property tax is drawing near.
“Taxes were mailed to tax payers. And the due dated on real estate is February 19th. And if you have a mobile home tax it will need to be paid by February 26th,” said Hamill.
Hamil said property tax payments received after the deadline will be subject to late fees.
“After that time period, yes. There is a penalty that will set in. At this time you can either mail your taxes into us or you can come in and pay them in person. Later on we’re hoping to have different methods of payment so it can be easier for the tax payer,” said Hamil.
Hamil’s next meeting with the commissioners is set for February 25th at 2 p.m.
