Quilters Ready To Show Off Their Craft
One group has mastered a centuries old craft and is bringing it to the public.
Every two years Nonna’s Quilting Nook hosts a quilt show at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. It is sponsored by the Pieceable Quilter’s Guild, who are celebrating their 25th year.
"We try and offer something for everyone and for the children we do a ‘I Spy’ they have a list of items to look for in the quilts and they have a flashlight and when they find all those items and bring them back to the registration table they get a little quilt square as their prize," said Sherry Gillespie, member of Piecable Quilter’s Guild.
The Quilt Show vendors will be of interest to the public not just the quilters. They will be selling jewelry and other non-quilting items. There will also be a scissor sharpening station set up. The show will also feature a quilt made by every member of the guild.
"There’s going to be over three hundred quilts on display ranging from full size bed quilts to the smaller wall hangings and even quilted items, there will be several different quilted items there, clothing, bags and carry-alls. The items are not for sale they are actually on display for the public to see," said Connie Fink, member of Pieceable Quilter’s Guild.
The Quilt Show will take place July 21st and July 22nd at the Veteran’s Complex at the fairgrounds.
