Rambo Memorial Health Center Requests Levy Renewal

ZANESVILLE, OH – Rambo Memorial Health Center met with the Muskingum County Commissioners on May 9th to discuss the renewal of a vital levy this fall.
The levy has been a backbone of local public health funding since the early1960s, undergoing renewal every five years. It is due for renewal once again this year and generates approximately $700,000 annually to the center.
“This levy helps with our operating expenses and the things that we’re able to do for the residents of Muskingum County,” Rambo Memorial Health Executive Director, Shannon Bell said.
This funding is essential for maintaining the center’s healthcare services and continuing its public health initiatives. The levy directly supports the centers role as the tuberculosis registry for Muskingum County.
“Rambo does so many things in the community, but we are actually the tuberculosis registry for Muskingum County. A lot of people think that tuberculosis is something of the past, and it truly isn’t. We’ve had two active cases in the last three years. The state of Ohio deals with 150 cases on a daily basis of active TB,” Bell said.
