Rasing Money for Recreation Center

At this year’s Martin Luther King Junior Scholarship Fund Prayer Breakfast there will be a chance for those in attendance to give back to the community.

A co-chair of a committee that hopes to bring a recreation center to the area said they’ll look for donations to the $5 million project.

More specifically they’ll collect the money so that one of the locker rooms will bear the name of beloved Coach Donis Toler.

"He was my gym teacher," said a smiling Co-Chair of the Muskingum Recreation Center James McDonald. "I’m thin today because of him. He made us run obstacle courses, ran cross country, push ups, sit ups and worked in the locker room."

McDonald said Toler had a statement, "It’s hard but it’s fair," and hopes that those contributing to the fund remember the coach who gave his all to his community.
