Zanesville nationally ranked, Port Authority comments

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- According to Site Selection Magazine, Zanesville is ranked as the sixth micropolitan area in the country.

Executive Director of the Zanesville-Muskingum Port Authority Matt Abbott says the ranking is in response to investment and job creation within the area.

“There’s great things going on in Zanesville and Muskingum County, albeit investments with current businesses so we had four current businesses to make that list that either had an investment or job creation or addition to their facility.”

Abbott says he’s excited about the prospect of new businesses coming to Zanesville and the potential in the area.

“We are blessed in a way to have Interstate 70 cutting through our community, to where we can reach 60% of the population of the United States in one day’s truck drive. so we, logistically, are in a great place to continue to market. We are putting another business park online, and those plans have been in place since 2018. “

Construction at the National Road Business Park is scheduled to begin this Summer.
