Red Cross Aids West Virginia Flood Victims

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The flash flooding that occurred last week in West Virginia has claimed more than 20 lives and caused thousands of dollars in damages.
The Red Cross has been swift with their response in getting aid to those in need.
“We have many many volunteers on the way down right now,” Red Cross Executive Director Marlene Henderson said. “We have our emergency response vehicles on scene. They are driving around the neighborhoods that affected people. They are working trying get things out of neighborhoods that have been destroyed. We also have many shelters set up. It’s very important to provide the people that have lost everything a safe dry place to sleep at night.”
The Red Cross is in desperate need of volunteers.
“If you’re interested in volunteering get a hold of us immediately. We can help you get through the classes.Bring you down and help volunteer for this,” Henderson said.
