Red Cross Month

An area organization is being commended for its efforts in the community.

Each year, the President of the United States proclaims March as Red Cross month and as a part of the national celebration, the Muskingum County Commissioners acknowledged the Muskingum Valley Red Cross.

"It is always wonderful to know that all of our hard work, all of our dedication doesn’t go unnoticed by the city officials along with everyone else in the community," said Executive Director Marlene Henderson.

Henderson said it’s important to have a working relationship with local government officials, especially since the Red Cross assist on all major disasters. She said March is a great time to recognized all the volunteers who help make the organization what it is.

"Each person put together to make one whole group can really make a difference not only in our own backyard but around the world," she said.
