Restore Opens in Sunrise Center
Habitat for Humanity celebrated the opening of their Zanesville ‘Restore’ July 10.
Director of Restore Operations Molly Blair said the store offers new and gently used items at a low cost.
“We have all kinds of people who shop here,” said Blair. “Some can afford to shop other places, but they love being thrifty and other people are doing projects on their house that they normally be able to afford. If you need a new front door, at a regular retailer it could be anywhere from 200 to 400 dollars, here I think our most expensive door is about $65.00.”
All proceeds from the store directly fund Habitat for Humanity missions. Family’s eligible to partner with Habitat for Humanity help to build their own home and pay a zero percent mortgage, in order to help them become financially independent, but Blair said a habitat home changes not only the lives of one family but one community at a time.
“Putting a habitat home in a community raises, of course, community cohesiveness because people come and help on that house watch it go up. Even if they’re not helping, they’re watching this house go up and these groups of people build this house and there’s just a sense of community that starts to build,” said Blair.
The Restore is located in Sunrise Center and will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
