Richard Schroeder

Richard L. Schroeder, 83, of Zanesville, went to his Lord on July 19, 2024. He was born on May 3, 1941 in Alton, Illinois, the son of the late Oliver and Ruth (Roberts) Schroeder of Godfrey, Illinois. Richard worked for Owens-Illinois Alton plant until the plant shut down. He then moved to PA and a year later moved to Zanesville. Richard retired from the Zanesville mould shop. He then co-owned Schroeder Vegetable Farm for several years. He loved gardening. While living in Illinois, Richard was a basketball referee for high school and college games. He was a huge fan of “March Madness”.
Richard is survived by his wife of 19 years Karen (Severt) Schroeder. He has two children Kayla (Schroeder) Mueller and Darrell (Cory) Schroeder. Two bonus children Danielle (Joe) Beamer and Dawnielle Davis. Eleven grandchildren Edward, Raymond, Robert, Matthew, Aydan, Oliver, Caiden, Evan, Ashton, Madelyn, and Aubrey. Three great-grandchildren Cordelia, Aurora, and Karson. Two brothers Wayne (Peggy) Schroeder and Dan (Martha) Schroeder. Several nieces and nephew.
A memorial gathering will be held at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage on Thur. July 25, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m.
