Rifles Donated to VFW

Vfw Rifles Donation

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A generous donation was made to the VFW Zanesville Post 1058.

Fifteen new AR-15 rifles were presented to the Honor Guard of the VFW. The Honor Guard members provide services such as volunteering their time presenting military honor to deceased veterans and performing the 21 gun salute. The Veterans Appreciation Foundation felt that the best way to recognize the Honor Guard’s services was to update their equipment.

“Their equipment has been outdated, and our Veterans Appreciation Foundation felt like it was time for us to present new equipment to these men who do volunteer, do not get a single thing for this,” said President of Veterans Appreciation Foundation, Wayne Clark.

The Veterans Appreciation Foundation’s mission is to support the improvement in quality of life for Veterans in the area and their families. This is all accomplished through various fundraising activities.

“This was about a six thousand dollar fundraising we put together to purchase these rifles for them. And we were honored to do it,” Clark said.
