Rolling Plains United Methodist Church is a drop off location for Operation Christmas

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Rolling Plains United Methodist Church is now collecting shoe boxes for Operation Christmas that will go all around the world.

National collection week began Monday. Coordinator, Erin Alice said they will be collecting boxes beginning now until Monday, November 21st. The deadline to submit your box is Monday at 11 a.m.

“What these boxes do is bring joy to kids who’ve never received a gift in their entire life,” Chad Lawson said. “We spend a lot of time packing them with school supplies, hygiene items, and toys.”

“We have a goal of 900,”Linda Hartman said. “Hopefully we will reach that by next Monday.”

These boxes will go to some of the most improvised countries around the world. Alice said you can fill the boxes with items for $20.

“If you hop online and get the OCC app (Operation Christmas Child app) you can put in you zip code and see what’s closest to you,” Alice said. “What location who serve you best. These boxes touch so many lives beyond the child who receives them. It’s a really simple process and a really great way to make a difference in the world.”

Last year 852 boxes were sent overseas.
