Rolling Plains United Methodist Church Holds Christmas Concert
Christmas is more than just about shopping, many carols grace the season as well. Rolling Plains United Methodist Church had a Christmas Concert Sunday.
The free event has been taking place for years now. Pastor John Alice explained what the concert is all about.
"We’re just here to praise God and celebrate His birth come Christmastime and we have drama, we have song. Our adults are singing, our teens are singing, and our children will be singing as well."
Alice says members of the parish have been working hard to prepare for the concert for about 3 months now. Hee believes the event really helps those who attend get in the Christmas spirit.
"I think sometimes we get caught up in the hustle and the bustle of Christmas and we really forget the reason for the season and we forget that really this is all about the birth of Christ and something like tonight, this concert really kind of sets us up and sets us off to have a wonderful Christmas experience. Because its more than just purchasing packages, it’s more than just giving someone presents, it’s celebrating the presence of God in our life and I think tonight does that for people."
Around 350 to 375 people attended the concert on Sunday.
