COSHOCTON, OH- Roscoe Village is kicking off summer in style with its second annual Summer Block Party, bringing the community together for a full day of fun, food, and family friendly activities.

The event, hosted by the Roscoe Village Business Association, transformed the streets today with attractions for all ages, including a petting zoo, pong tournament, and live performances.

“It was with the events committee for the Roscoe Village Business Association, we kind of came up with the idea together to have a block party in the vein of like an old school block party that you might do in your neighborhood, so bring out some vendors, have some kids activities, and also as it gets later into the day we will have some more adult oriented activities,” said Roscoe Village Event Coordinator, Clarrisa Roof.

The block party is designed to be accessible to everyone in the community, with many of the main attractions offered for free.

“What’s cool about the block party is it is essentially a free event, so we have kids crafts, kids games, we’re having a coloring contest, we have a petting zoo today, and all of that is free for the kids to enjoy, and we have some other vendors and stuff on the street as well and obviously you’re going to pay for their goods but having community events like this that are free to come out to and just enjoy the nice weather and enjoy the village that’s a great reason to come out to the block party,” said Roof.

Organizers say they plan to bring the Summer Block Party back next year. For more information, visit The Shops of Roscoe Village Facebook page.
