Bishop Rosecrans High School Presenting Rod Woodson in August

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For the first time, Bishop Rosecrans High School is presenting a special guest to speak for a good cause.
“Lightning” Rod Woodson will be speaking at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Monday, August 5th. Woodson played for the NFL for 17 seasons, 10 of those with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rosecrans Athletic Association President, Chris Zemba, said he met Woodson at the Steelers camp and believed Woodson’s message needed to be shared to the community.
“His message will be for about any age. It’s about being the best at what you do. It’s not just for kids, it’s not just for older ones. It’s about being the best at your trade,” said Zemba.
The event includes a dinner at 5:30 p.m., and Rod Woodson will then speak at 6 p.m. All the proceeds from the event go towards the needs of the Rosecrans Athletic Department such as equipment and uniforms.
“It’s a privately funded school so it’s all funded off tuition. At Rosecrans, each sport has to raise their own money to pay for their equipment. So we bring all 11 sports together, it’s a team effort, we sell these tickets, we bring somebody in like this. And if it goes well, we’ll be able to bring a Steeler in every year,” he said.
Tickets will be sold at the door. But to purchase tickets and reserve a table in advanced, just contact Chris Zemba at (740) 319-6569.
