Salvation Army Accepting Christmas Applications Soon
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Salvation Army will be accepting Christmas applications for Muskingum County very soon.
You can apply from Monday, October 22nd to Friday, October 26th. There is a food basket available for families and there is a toy box available for children.
Beth Archer, a member of Women’s Auxiliary said, “That’s people in our community who need assistance either with the food box or they need assistance with toys and gifts for their children for Christmas.”
Children 12-years-old or younger can apply for the toy and Christmas food baskets. Families with older children or none as well as a single person can only apply for the Christmas food basket. They do size the food boxes to the size of the family.
“I think it’s very important for families,” Archer said. “I know that there are families that want to have Christmas for their children and they just don’t have enough money after they pay their bills to give kids a little extra.”
Archer said come prepared with an ID, a social security card for every family member, proof of monthly income and copies of monthly bills. If you are interested in volunteering call Salvation Army at (740) 452-8350 and ask for Mindy McCloy.
