Sandra Groves

Sandra J. Groves, 81, of South Zanesville, passed away on Sun, Oct. 25, 2026, at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. She was born on Nov. 6, 1944, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Robert and Ethel Sleek Adams. She was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Post 29, VFW Post 1058, and the Eagles 302, all in Zanesville. She is survived by 2 sons, Carl Groves of Washington Court House and Darren (Rita) Groves of Blue Rock, 2 daughters, Missy (David) Brister of Zanesville and Marla (Serhun) Groves-Al of Izmir, Turkey, a brother, JD Adams of Stockport, 3 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl Groves, a brother, Dick Groves and 3 sisters, Phyllis Lauer, Carolyn Motz and Bobbi Josselyn. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling a caring cremation for the family.
