Scholarship Central Offering March Madness

March Madness continues for basketball fans, but here locally, a different kind of March Madness is taking place.

This one is geared toward any and all students looking to further their education. The Muskingum County Community Foundation and Scholarship Central have extended hours for walk-ins between 4PM and 7PM Monday through Thursday. Director of Educational Services, Heather Sands told us about some of the things they can help students with.

“we can review the essays with them, help them figure out how to answer the questions, give them some different ideas–did they fill it out correctly. Did they have all the right information and also its very critical to make copies of what you turn in so that way you document it for future years as well.”

The following dates are currently available for scholarship help. March 25th through the 26th and March 30th through April 1st. If you would prefer to set up an appointment ahead of time rather than walk in you are welcome to do so. Sands told us why they offer these wonderful opportunities for students.

“We offer it just because a lot of our scholarships are online now and students are still maybe intimidated a little bit by that so we want to make sure that we have our computers here available for them so that way there’s no barriers that they will have. We want to eliminate those barriers they might have to fill out those applications. Because there’s so many scholarships in our community and so much free money that’s available to our students. ”

Heads up students! If you have any questions about scholarships or the process, you can ask them via Facebook or by using the Twitter handle: @ScholarshipCent
